Yes, just imagine “The Exorcist” with CGI instead of simple makeup, lighting and camera angle – not to mention great acting. Only warmed over split pea soup could have caused the flinch that rippled through the theater. And only sound distortion from a simple reel to reel could have made those famous sound and voice effects featuring that great actress Mercedes McCambridge. No horror movie has matched it since then with the exception of the two “The Evil Dead” movies which used good old fashioned stop motion animation.

just watched a documentary called “sound city” and folks were saying the SAME THING about the music industry. computers take away all the creativity of putting an album together the old fashioned way and not just with some software and autotune. great docu BTW paul mccartney and the surviving members of nirvana jam at the end…magic.
